MBA Human Resources Management

The MBA in Human Resources Management program prepares students for professional positions in human resource management as functional or staff specialists. Functional specializations include: recruitment, selection, training and development, job evaluation, performance assessment, and compensation administration. Staff specialists coordinate or perform many of these functions in a centralized structure or for departments in large companies.

The concentration in Human Resource Management is designed to specifically address the challenges faced in the management of human resources in private corporations and public institutions. The development of decision making and problem solving skills will be emphasized in the areas of human resource planning, development, training, recruitment, selection, retention and global HRM. This program is available at both New Rochelle and Rockland campuses.

The Online MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management has been created to address the growing need for qualified, skilled HR professionals who have strong interpersonal skills and corporate operational expertise.

This curriculum is designed to prepare students to integrate HR functions into an organization’s strategic plan. Topics of study include long-range planning approaches, developing leadership vision, downsizing strategies, international labor relations and conflict resolution.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment opportunities for HR professionals are expected to remain robust through 2012. This career-focused degree program provides the groundwork for motivated individuals to climb to the peak of rewarding executive HR careers. It is designed to prepare students wishing to pursue careers as Employee Relations Specialists, Benefits Administrators, HR Supervisors, Recruiters and many other interesting positions.
